I've searched but not been able to find much, but here is the deal.
When I shoot in raw+jpg only the jpg is read and I cant even force it to import the raw files...They just simply do not show up.

Im sure this is user error, so I apologize now if my noob ways have caused any grief! Thanks a ton guys;)

Windows I presume? How do you download them? Use a Card reader.

Are you sure you're not seeing just the CR2?
There's a setting in the prefs "treat jpg and raw as separate files" or something like that.

Otherwise, explain what you're seeing, where and what it is your doing, and how.

Thanks for all the help! Here is what Im doing...

sandisk reader which auto imports to lr3, then it shows the thumbs of jpg only, the only way I can view the cr2 is through dpp or adobe bridge (which I dont have ps, it just came with a trial and still works.)

My issue with all of it is that I cant export to anything but dpp or preview. I dont want to have to export to dpp and then lr3 because that is obviously a giant hassle!

First of all, check your Edit/Preferences dialog. In the General tab, there is a section, Import Options, with an option to "Treat jpeg files next to Raw files as separate photos". Make sure that is checked.

If that doesn't work, then we'll need more detail about exactly what happens once you plug the card into the reader and what steps you are taking to get the images into Lightroom.
