Hi,

I was thinking if i should upgrade few of my old gear, not sure if i will do but this will happen only if i sell my old gear locally only, so let's say if that happened, is it really worthy to upgrade if i will not use some of the new stuff i will upgrade? I was thinking to upgrade 3 cameras and 1 lens for now, later will see if i will upgrade another lens.

Your thoughts!!!

That's a lot of gear.

Only features that you can really "add" to your camera line up is higher iso shooting & HD movie. But if you don't shoot high ISO and don't care for HD movie... then your existing cameras are... well... tremendous.

There is a camera if i can sell it and have a good money out of it then i will definitely upgrade to the model i want which has HD movie and high ISO capability and it will serve me very well, other models if upgraded will have those two features but don't think i will use them a lot or even will use them, but who knows, i may think again and re-consider them to be used sometimes, anything is up to applications and my mind.

For me it’s like trying to give advice on someone who owns a Lamborghini deciding if they should buy a Ferrari.

I posted here talking about Canon gear, not something else, long time i am not sharing things or news about Canon gear, also asking people who have those new models if they upgraded from old same gear i have is better than i go do it by myself and not sure if i did a right job and maybe found out i did a mistake to upgrade A camera to new model B camera.

Also if i have a Lamborghini, i may not know at all about Ferrari ;)

Umm maybe an upgrade to a 5d2 or a 1dmk4? not really much need to udgrade by the looks of your gear list. The mk4 would probably be the only real upgrade (higher iso capabilities and speed) youve got pretty much everything covered.

You could start a hire business with your line up.

1dmk4 1dmk2 50d 70-200 2.8L 17-40 f4L 50 2.5 100 2.8 macro, 28 1.8 and the rest.....

OK, i should add this in my OP to make it more clear.

I was thinking to upgrade the following cameras to following new models:

30D >>> 7D

5D classic >>> 5D MarkII

1D MarkIIn >>> 1D Mark 4 [Some told me to upgrade 1D3 not the 1D2n]

I don't have any new Canon cameras that have video or newer lenses, so from where did you get that conclusion?

Yes, they are, but not anymore against newer models, 1D3 is better than my 1D2n that i want to sell it badly to get mk4, 7D beating 30D in many aspects even that 30D is a phenomenal body.
