Just bought a 3rd EL-skyport universal receiver to trigger a 3rd 580exII. Went to charge it, green LED stayed solid for 3 hours, then turned off (meant this is fully charged).

Here's the kicker...WON'T TURN ON!! Not sure what else to do, about to submit to the fact that the internal (non-user servicable) Li-ion battery is dead. This is the predecessor to the "Speed" series Elinchrom skyports...

What do??

THANKS! I'll have to try this...it's a matter of do i want to void the warranty or not. This is pretty much a brand new unit out of the box, and hopefully it's just a battery issue and not something larger or more substantial.

Thanks again Lon!

Geez, Louise.

If it's still under warranty, send it back and have it replaced.

Breaking it open will surely void the warranty.

I'm going to call them and see if they can do that, since this old model is no longer being manufactured.

I wonder if the new EL skyport "speed" is compatible with the old transmitter?? ...
