The only difference between the 220 & 230 (hs) are that the 230 has a gps stamp thingy, but from what i've read about it, it's nothing to write home about.
The 210 & 220/230 have different sensors, the 'hs' (I think) stands for 'high sensitivity' (again - I think) it's a backlit CMOS sensor that takes better pictures in low light.
I've had a 220hs for a few months & have used it quite a few times, it came into its own at a christening in church, in low light I got good pictures without the intrusion of the flash, they're good quality 'snapshots' but it's not as good as I expected (I have an A40 & an S3is & think the A40 still producing stunning shots).
It's a good point & shoot with a good zoom that fits reasonably well in the pocket, I was deliberating over this & the S90, but went for this one due to the longer zoom.
