I picked up a Yashica TL Electro 35mm SLR (for free) and the guy threw in a set of extension tubes with an M42 mount. After a little thinking, I glued the EF mount from my 75-300 onto the Extension tubes (the 75-300 is out of action, has been for 2 months or so) Grabbed some change, and a piece of paper, and had at it.
Not too shabby for a Free setup (actually, it cost me $25, as I bought a 135 f2.8/M42 and a battery for my Minolta SRT)
Its a little soft at the edges, and the composition of the picture sucks, but I was pretty impressed.

Is there any way to know what size the extension tubes are? they dont say on them.

Now that you have the basic settup, you should play with different lighting, objects, and distences. Your Dime shot looks pretty good for a first run at it.
