Microscope Video - Polarized Sand - Acrylic Plastic - Mica Effects

A T1i video of small sand from a sample of water and moss. With a polarizer on the microscope light, minerals will glow a white color. Place a piece of acrylic in the line of the light and it will add a variety of colors. Mica will do the same. This shows some of the effects.

Thanks Brick, yes, they are impossible to see any detail on when they move so fast, but someone has studied them in detail and given them names even. There is a powder called Methyl Cellulose that you can mix with water, then add a drop or two to the sample water, and it will slow them all down so you can see them. It's the same thing as wallpaper paste.
