Can anyone tell me whats the folded length of Manfrotto 190CX3 tripod - not the pro model with the center column removed?

I am thinking of picking up this tripod to take along with me on an African Safari and to Zanzibar (for long exposures with Hoya NDX400) - and would like this to fit in my small check in baggage.

How happy are you with this tripod overall in the area of sturdiness?

Thanks

I couldn't get my 3001 in my check in bag and the bag was on the bigger side although I didn't try it with the column removed. I ended up taking an old Velbon all metal one tht had integrated head. The head works wonderful but the legs were of square open design and it pinches fingers nicely. I wonder if one of the Bogen models found at Best Buy would work?

I am starting to lean towards the Benro Travel Angel Series - I am not sure how good they are to support heavier (70-200 2.8) Lens with 5DII
