Hey everyone,

I'm a bit dissatisfied with my current lens selection, so I'm looking for some suggestions. I have a Canon 40D and a 100mm Macro and 50mm 1.4.

My definite haves are:

24-70
70-200 2.8 IS Mk II

Nice to haves would be:

16-35 Mk II
24mm 1.4 Mk II
100mm Macro L

The problem I'm having is if it's worth getting the 16-35 and 24. I like doing low-light photography and I'd also like to have a good wide angle lens. I'd only consider upgrading my body to a 7D so I know the limitations of not having a full frame body...

I like to shoot pretty much any subject; landscape, water sports, macro, urban, etc. Any different suggestions would be appreciated :)

If you want to shoot wide and won't be upgrading to full frame anymore, I recommend the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8

Your 'definite haves' list of 2 lenses covers a huge range and is a great starting point. The 24-70 and 70-200 is a fantastic 2-lens solution on ANY camera.

^Agreed. I just sent my 24-70 back to Abes of Maine to be exchanged for the 50L, but I can tell you right now the lens is pretty damn versatile. If you do get both the 24-70 and 70-200, there would be no need for the 24 1.4 and you would have a pretty good setup to cover almost all of the range needed. IMO Forget the 100 macro lens since you already have one. The 16-35 is just up to you I personally would skip out on it since the 24-70 covers a bigger focal range and unless you need a wide angle lens get a prime then, but thats just me.
