Gimp editing: Moving a pic along with its layer mask

Ive arranged some pics on a background. With these pics ive edited them to have a layer mask to show the background. The prob im facing is now I want to move the pics to a different location, however when I do this the layer mask doesnt follow along. Is there a shortcut that I am missing or do i just need to redo the layer mask once I finalize the picture position?

Edit: Oops. Gimp. I'm talking about PS: Gimp might be different...
Click between mask and layer icon. Then you get a "link" icon (which is there by default, but you probably removed by accident), and the mask will follow.
