My current favourites are Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ocean Colour Scene. Sometimes it is Creedence Clearwater Revival, others it is Foo Fighters...depends on my mood...

Either my computer case fans(Antec 1200 case, with stock case fans all running at full speed constantly, so they're not exactly silent... though it doesn't really bother me, it's not THAT loud), or music.
Usually Katie Melua, or Norah Jones, or some oldschool jazz like Miles Davis. Though that largely depends on my mood. Occasionally I listen to more fast paced, less chilled out music while editing, but not all that often.

A good photographer can take extraordinary photos anywhere, with any camera and any lens while a mediocre one will take mediocre ones everywhere, with every camera and every lens.
Never limit yourself with what others think you should do. Shoot what you find interesting, exactly the way you want to.

I listen to the TV while I edit. Music is to distracting to me when I edit because i'd have to change tunes all the time and I don't do shuffling.
