Martin,
Algebraic: You punch in "1", "+", "1" ,"=" then 2.0 pops up on the screen.
RPN: You punch in "1" ,"ENTER", "1", "+" then 2.0 pops up on the screen.
Electronic abacus.

This is true, but try it on a more realistic real world problem.
How about the the angle of view of an 85mm lens on a 30D:
AoV = 2 atan(sqrt(22.5² + 15²) ÷ (2 × 85))
Algebraic:
[2] [×] [atan] [(] [Sqrt] [(] [2] [2] [.] [5] [x²] [+] [1] [5] [x²] [)] [÷] [(] [2] [×] [8] [5] [)] [)] [=]: 25 keystrokes, and don't forget to close all parentheses.
RPN:
[2] [2] [.] [5] [x²] [1] [5] [x²] [8] [5] [enter] [2] [×] [÷] [atan] [2] [×]: 17 keystrokes, and absolutely no parentheses to forget.
Now, try comparing them with a complex problem.
