I dunno if I would enjoy it... right now I have 2 ZOOM lenses and I can already see some strain on my 70-200mm's mount because of the frequency I change lens when I shoot :o:o

Must be a Nikon Lens every one knows they are cheap! j/k

Here you go Julian some options in your price point:

Cervelo R3 (external link)
Cannondale Synapse (external link)
Specialized Roubaix SL3 Expert (external link)
BMC SL01 (external link)
Giant Defy Advanced 1 (external link)
Trek Madone 5.2 (external link)
Izalco team replica (external link)
Litespeed C3 (external link)
Jamis xenith pro (external link)

Note Julian the majority of these are 2011 and either Shimano ultegra or SRAM components. The 2012 will slowly be integrating utlegra Di2.

Click on the bike to go straight to it :D

Don't get me wrong. Zooms have their place for quick results but, just using the 35,50, and 100 alone surprised me how much I have to think about composition. ;)

I remember your example of using a lens wide open and only having one eye in focus. It's not pleasant to see imo.

Get the 35 1.4 then. For the price it's not bad.

yeap I research about it... not in a hurry to buy it at all

FJ LOVE wrote in post #12974949 (external link)
what does strain look like, c'mon Steven

hahaha I guess with the way I mount the lens sometimes when I am in a hurry I bump it around the mount or something, I can definitely see some marks on it now :( I'll take some shots with the Macro later so you guys could see

its not about lowlight, I want the very thin dof effect though  I actually saw a lot of samples of the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 wide open and it seems like its pretty sharp :D

if you want thin DOF get a macro and get close :p

the 24mm on a new zoom will be at least as good as the 24 L in my opinion and will cost the same too :D

But I kind of have a thing for fast lens.... Ever since I got the 50 1.4 I love the bokah!!!

I held back also ;) Just note like Nick said ultegra Di2 will come at a premium and those prices you see online are MSRP so slash about 200 off that and it should give you a good idea of where your bike shop will quote the price. Regular Ultegra 6700 will be less as well. SRAM is also another option.
