The scary part is that we've suddenly started having them around here. It used to be that every 15 years or so there'd be one pop up. We've had three major ones in the area this summer. One of them went over top of the house and touched down in a field just a mile from us, travelled 11 kms and took out several hydro towers. We lucked out with that one, no one was injured and no homes were damaged to any extent. The hydro system, fields, and the odd barn took all the damage.
