I purchased a Bower adapter tube and a Digital Concepts fish eye lens as well as a 3.6X telephoto lens (couldnt resist) for me G12.

The adapter attaches fine, the telephoto lens is garbage as you can still see the barrel of it when you zoom fully.

I cant attach the fish eye lens though. i just cannot figure out how its supposed to connect to the tube.

Anyone got any experience with this?

I think you will find that on a number of tubes you can buy, the internal threads are designed arranged in such a way as to physically stop you fitting some attachments. This is what I have with a set of Canon LA-DC58K tubes, which means I cannot fit my wide adaptor WC-DC58B (0.75x), however, fitting the other section of tube works without problem. Basically the thread in the short tube is recessed down inside the unit, so when you try to mount the adaptor which has a short thred, the thread does not extend far enough to engage and attach properly. I also have a set of eBay tubes for G11/12, which while very cheap and cheerful, the thread on that extends to the end, so I can fit all my 58mm attachments without problem.

While this is a pain, having more than one set of tubes can be a real advantage, I basically have one setup for close up and the other for wide-angle, it is then a very simple job to swap and change when needed, without having to screw and un-screw units which can be a pain…

Thanks, but it doesnt make sense to get a set of lenses and an adapter from the same package on Amazon.

The tube is totally fine and has a thread that can fit a 58mm filter. The telephoto lens fits, but its completely useless. The main problem is that the other lens doesnt fit. i'm kind of stuck with it though as the shipping to send it back costs as much as the lens does. Lesson learned.
