I just received some new items in the mail and gave them a try, but i have 2 questions.

here is my setup
T3i
4-cactus v5 triggers with shutter release cable
2-yn560's

1. can i change a setting on the t3i to allow the flashes to be triggered in live view mode? if so where at?

2. I setup both flashes on my stands, v5s on camera and both flashes to rx and my other to tx. I focus and release the shutter just fine, and both flashes fire fine, except the timing between the camera and flashes are not synced right, the flashes fire before the camera can capture them. Is there anyway to adjust this?

1. Make sure the Live View "Quiet Mode" is not turned on. If it's in Quiet Mode (aka Silent Shooting) the flash signal won't be sent to the trigger. I don't remember exactly where this is in the menus; I think there's Mode 1, Mode 2, and Off - set it to Off.

2a. What mode are your YN-560s in? Make sure they're in M, and not S1 or S2.
2b. What shutter speed are you using? If the flash is your only light source, and you're not using any ambient lighting, set your shutter to NO HIGHER THAN 1/200. If you go over 1/250, the mechanical rolling shutter will obscure some of the flash.

If you get too much ambient light at 1/200, make your aperture smaller and/or reduce your ISO. When shooting with flash as your sole light source, you'll almost always use ISO100 and 1/200 (or so) shutter speed, then control the amount of light by adjusting aperture, flash power, and flash distance to subject.

Are you tripped the camera with the V5 shutter release setup? Make sure the shutter release setup is on a channel different from the flash channel. Otherwise, when you trip the shutter, you'll trip the flashes at the same time. That doesn't quite work...

Thanks Guys, I don't know if I am blind but i couldn't see the quiet mode option, ill have to do some more digging for that but I am still having problems with the trigger.

Here is how it is set up for a test.

Flashes are set to manual.

Here is the results.

Alright here is the photo, using the cactus v5 as a wireless trigger using the setup shown above.
Camera set at 1/30 at f3.5 iso 200 in manual mode, visually looking both flashes did fire.

After that i took the shutter cable off, and swapped it over to TX ch1 and used the camera to release the shutter.

Ah, I see the issue.

You need another V5. You cannot use the one mounted in the hotshoe as a RX AND TX. The hotshoe is for TX only. There needs to be an RX attached via shutter cable for the triggering.

Lastly, the shutter V5 (both the TX and RX) need to be on channel 6-16. If anything from 1-5 it will be triggered by the TX atop the camera (which should be on channel 1... typically).

Awesome Thank you, makes since now that i step back and looked at that. Worked great snagging one v5 from a flash.
