Ahhh, the huge S(c)andisk conspiracy...

But IMO i just think this is another SanDisk scam to profit from the stories in advertisement, i just don't see how plastic CF & SD cards can survive fire even if you put it in thick plastic and a metal body it still would melt in the holdings of the card from the heat and temperature.;)

Petra Hall wedding photographer in Sweden also user name (CyberPet) but before this I didn't even heard of her. But how many professionals are here as a member on this forum?

Now don't any of you members take this the wrong way it's just in my opinion.

As you know there are many professional photographers in the world, But how many of them print a story like this? if the story is not for any Fame and fortune or for fun, why was the story printed in a UK EOS magazine last year and advertise on many news websites on the world web and talk about with links on the photograph forums the story is one year old but still made it to this forum as a new thread, it was to keep the story running. as I said before it's was done only for advertisement that is good for a business.

My conspiracy can only work in a 7D camera test to prove the fact, but i don't have the funds to do this, if it was possible proving and shown on the web how many members here would jump out and say it was not true? there you go it would be another conspiracy ;)

This is what I have read on the story

The news from Michael Zhang
Surprisingly, both the hard drive in the Macbook Air and the CompactFlash card inside the 7D survived the flames, and the data on both were recovered

This is what Petra Hal said
something in the car exploded and the car caught on fire. Huge flames of fire was engulfing the whole care. In the car my fiancé did not only have his Canon 7D (with a 24-105L on it), but also his laptop, a MacBook Air. All went up in flames. The car. The camera & lens and the computer

So if the car exploded and had Huge flames how did the 7D and Macbook survived the flames but in Petra Hall online story all went up in flames but in Michael Zhang story it survived the flames?

Petra Hall
Michael asked me if he could write about it. I of course said yes!
It almost feels like it's a viral thing now. Hopefully something will come out of it

it did advertisement for Sandisk

Petra Hall
Well there was my fiancé and his workmate in the car when something exploded and it started to burn, they were on the highway driving home from work. They both got out unharmed before the car was burning out. So good news

So you was not in the car Petra?

Petra Hall
Oh, I will send the images to Sandisk for sure. I'm debating if I'm going to ask them to replace the card, just in case. Even if it's fully working from what I can tell. But better safe than sorry.

But if the Sandisk card survived the flames and was completely unharmed why change it and contact Sandisk?

Petra Hall
The camera smells something incredible bad, so I rather not touch it much

How did you get the CF card out then?

Petra Hall
Unfortunately he didn't know the car was uninsured.
Very confused??

Petra Hall
but my fiancé just changed insurance company so he forgot which company
how can you forgot?

That's why it a conspiracy;)

Sorry to Petra Hall but I can't believe it and lucky no one got hurt.:D

And I think that is the essential part of the issue. You don't see how it is possible, so it must be a false, and if it's false, it must be fraud.

Ever had Baked Alaska?
