Hey, all; I am looking for a used flash to use for OCF and need it to be compatible with my Plus II Pocket Wizards; by compatible I mean I also need to be able to use a sync cord with it. Will a 430 EXII or 550EX fit the bill? Thanks!

As long as you have a PC to 3.5mm sync cable you'll do fine, I can't remember if the PWs include this cable in the box but if it doesn't check Flash Zebra http://flashzebra.com/ http://flickr.com/photos/eduardofrances/

The 550EX doesn't have a sync port built-in so you will need a hotshoe with either a sync port or an attached sync cable (like the one from FlashZebra which is on my to-buy list). You will have to make sure to get the hotshoe that fits the flash brand. FlashZebra has them available for some of the popular brands.

So, is the 580EX the only line that has one? Michelle Brooks Photography

However, I bought the replacement 580EX foot with synch port from flashzebra, and the swap was easy, and I've been using my 580EX off-camera with PW II's for a while now. Another option to consider is the FlexTT5 if you want to use the off-camera flash with ETTL. Cameras: 1DX, 1D4, 20D, 10D, S90, G2
