I love the composition. You've got enough of her chest and belly to engage the viewer, and the lighting is nicely done.

Lighting needs some work. Also wait until the last month of pregnancy to shoot. 26 weeks is too early and the shape of the baby belly is not as good as late in the pregnancy.

just because now I'm curious, but when you say "lighting need some work" can you be more specific? That doesn't tell her anything useful to go try something else. As for when to shoot, people have been known to do progressive series, too. I'm not sure why criticize her on shooting mom at 26 weeks

I think its a very nice shot. Well posed and composed.

I agree that the lighting could have been adjusted to put more emphasis on the shoes, since that appears to be the main subject, and also for a smoother transition on the belly. Maybe even try some with slightly shallower DOF.

well, DOF could certainly answer whether the belly or the shoes are the focus, and then light it accordingly.

hawk911 - normally i try to provide very detailed cc but lately it's not welcomed so i tend to not waste my time....

the lighting, shooting straight on and the fact that the subject is not closer to full term [a larger belly looks more pregnant vs is she just overweight or pregnant]...it makes a huge difference once the belly has popped...

I get that, but if the shot didn't have the shoes I'd wholeheartedly agree. The baby shoes give it context. I like how the OP lit from both sides, and used the shadow to sculpt the belly a bit.

As for other critiques, I would tend to think the people having issues with a decent critique were just after some kisses, and not real feedback.
