I took a few photos with flash on and heard a loud popping noise and then the flash no longer works. The infrared light at the front of the flash is "ON" constantly even if the 580EX is not mounted. The pilot button is light "GREEN" about 50%. There is no display on the back screen and none of the buttons work. Canon USA Gear! I would check to see if thats what happened to you.

Oct 12, 2011 17:45 | #4 I've used it for over 1 year and I have replaced flash before in the past. Not sure what's the problem now, but the Pilot light was lit green when the power is turned on.
