Thanks all for your invaluable advise.
We had a great trip. It was a good learning experience, and i think i am happy with the images i got. Hopefully we will go back again sometimes in near future and i will be able to do better.

Here are some of the images from the trip which i posted in the photo sharing section : https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=13106837&postcount=1

I got back from the same trip on the 2nd Sept, which we took for our honeymoon, only it didn't end so well. I had a seizure in the Jozani forest and suffered multiple fractures of 3 vertebrae and i'm currently lying in a hospital recovering from the surgery to implant titanian rods in my back. so i haven't been able to even look at most of the photos let alone process or post them anywhere.

I'm going to Zanzibar in June next year.
Don't know much about the place. Can you go on safari on Zanzibar itself or is it too small?

there are no large game or predators on the island but you can seem some rare monkeys in the national park. You have to go to the mainland for a proper safari.

Thanks.
We were hoping to stop off at Tanzania on the way there so I guess we'll have to if we want to see more than monkeys.
Can you scuba dive there by the way?

Red Colobus - and you won't need your telephoto lens. I had to keep stepping back because I was too close at 100mm...

Owain, I am very sorry to hear about your seizure. I wish you speedy recovery.

We will be looking forward to seeing your pictures, once you get better.

Zanzibar has lots of Dive shops and diving locations, most of these are in the North of the island, but there are a couple based out of the south eastern resorts as well.

I am not sure of Zanzibar or other costal areas of Tanzania.
