Not sure if there is a power forum where this may be better located. Anyway. I am looking to buy some more AA's in bulk (40 - 60 batteries depending on deals).

I have picked up a variety of different batteries in the past (mostly e-bay) with some impressive Mah claims. Today I saw them as high as 3800mah for AA Nimh batteries (astounding and probably zero factual evidence to support such a label). http://cgi.ebay.com …484170b009#ht_3282wt_1163 (external link)

Does any one know of comparison tests and deals for some decent batteries. I know Enloop has a cheer squad but think their sizably overpriced to what might also be out there.

I appreciate any tips, feedback, or suggestions.

Check out Thomas Distributing and they can probably offer some of the best prices for bulk buys.

I don't think Ebay is such a good idea for batteries, cards and things that are easy to fake. Even if you buy a trusted brand like the Eneloops they could be fakes from China.

Many thanks guys. That link looks to be just what the doctor ordered.

I have heard that Enloops have a good charge life but I usually only ask a week of storage of what I use (for the most part). Time for more research!!

Unless they offer further discounts if you call in, they're actually more than Amazon. The 16 pack on eneloop's are $0.02 more there, and they charge about $5 for shipping.

Amazon wont replace defective batteries 6 months down the road. But Thomas offers direct warranty and replacement so paying $.02 for that might be worth it. Also Thomas Distributing is an Amazon merchant so you can have your cake (free shipping) and eat it too (product guarantee). Plus most of the batteries they sell on Amazon include battery cases which typically cost a buck or two depending on the quality. If your going to buy 50-60 Eneloops i'm pretty sure they would give a better price going direct AND free shipping.

Cool. I'm up around 50 eneloops never had an issue. I do have one photographer friend who had an issue with his eneloops, but it must be because he shoots Nikon. ;)

With that said though, at $6-$8 pack (AA sale rate that seems to happen at least every other month which is when I refresh), it's almost cheaper to just buy new ones instead of paying the return shipping as required for warranty "service." Unless Thomas Distributing picks up that return fee. You can return directly to Sanyo but the customer is responsible for fees.
