The cells on the Cheetah grid are 2" x 2". It might just ben an illusion because the square is more defined with the heavier material on the Cheetah and the thinner material of the Jinbei (I got it right this time) has a 'sloppier' appearance and the square grid isn't as defined...... or, it could be a larger cell. ;)

photoflex uses the same design where you velcro the rods. makes setup easier.

Regarding grids and front diffusion I am not understanding what you guys saying. You mean you can't have grid in front of the front diffuser?

They both attach using velcro. Look at the photo of the strip w/ front diffusion...not much of the velcro left to attach to, so the grid would have problems sticking to the maybe 1/4" of velcro on the strip...
FWIW, I usually use the grid w/ the front diffusion as well...haven't tried it without...something to try this weekend.... :)

The Velcro is a little thicker that the grid/diffusion so in a pinch you could attach both. But for me it's not something I need. I rarely use both diffusion layers on anything. I'll do some testing with the Elinchrom deflectors too when I get a chance, should eliminate the center hotspot.

Saw that. Most strip/soft boxes have wider velcro to attach both. I won't buy if I can't use outer panel with the grid.
