http://www.webs.com/ (external link) (One free plan and 3 paid plans.)

http://www.hosteurope.de …MWL64vx2qoCFQm_zAod0WcM9A (external link) (Seems to be only in German)
http://www.hpage.com/ (external link) (English)
http://www.npage.de/ (external link) (German)
http://www.web-gear.com/ (external link) (Seems to be only in German)
http://www.one.com/en/ (external link) (many different Languages)
http://www.goneo.de/ (external link) (German only)
http://www.webwide.de/ (external link) (Germn only)
If you know some other hosts, you are very welcome to send it to me in a pm, so I can add it to the list. Please let me know any failure in my list.

I thought, we might even share some experiences made with these hosts. I would suggest, that all users, who want there experience to be posted, send me the text in an pm, so I can enter a replay for each host. That would make sure, that this topic will stay well-arranged and it will be easy for interested users to find the information they need.

I hope someday, this Topic will be a Sticky so everyone can immediately find the information they want to find.

kind regards your winam

My sister is a big fan of PhotoShelter, yet I seldom see much exposure or comments in this forum. They claim to have over 65,000 pro photographers in their stable. Anyone have much experience or commentary about them?

Not a thread hijack but though someone could answer this question for me as it's related. I have been looking at smugmug but can't quite figure this out.

The option to sell your pics with smugmug, if you only have the basic or advanced account (Not the pro account) can you still sell your pics through them?

Try looking at a features listing for the services:

Then I would look at the specific site for more detailed questions.

Yes. By default your images are for sale at all account levels at the low SmugMug prices. If you want to set your own prices and earn a profit, you will need the Pro plan. With the Basic and Power plans your photos are only for sale a the low default SmugMug prices - That means that there is no profit for you if someone purchases a print. You can also turn off selling in any one of the plans.

Hope this answers your question!

I have been using piwigo for almost a year now, and am very pleased with it. It is far more than a simple gallery and can support multiple users etc. I recently upgraded from 2.1.6 to 2.2.4 and things are even faster, permission support (user based/group based) has been improved as well as overall speed of the code base.

I have purchased the piwigo lightroom plugin from http://alloyphoto.com/plugins/piwigo/ (external link) and find this really closes the loop in my site. Before I would have to export images to folders on my local drive, then upload them to my site. If I made changes the whole process would repeat. It got ugly. This publishing agent has really been a wonderful tool for me.

Willing to answer any questions I can.

note: in no way related to piwigo or alloy. Just a happy user.

Thought this was going to get more action. Here is a thread I posted before asking about open source/ DB driven galleries. It has a few things listed.

A lot of hosting companies have a website building tool complete with photo gallery.
www.1and1.com (external link) is one such company.
