These guys seem a lot more shy than their Great Blue cousins, who I can practically walk up and pet. I got a few shots, but with only 300mm at my disposal (I'm just this week getting into bird photography), they are pretty severe crops.

They are a bit away, but the detail is very good, great set.

Very nice shots....but I believe this is a great egret. The white morph herons have light colored legs and a lighter beak.

Yes, it's definitely not the white morph of Ardea herodias, it's an Ardea alba. This is the bird once known as the Great White Heron, prior to the confusion caused by the white herodias occidentalis polymorphs. It is now also known here in the US as the Great Egret, Great White Egret, White Egret, Western Great Egret, Common Egret or most commonly just Egret. I've never seen a white morph, I think they're a southern phenomenon only. All our GBH's are the normal blue-grey.
