Im just a little stuck with how to proceed.

Is it industry standard to do a test shoot before to see how we work together / produce creative work?

Thanks for the help

Is the MUA:
A: Hiring you.
B: working with you on equal terms.

If A, charge what you normally would, unless she needs commercial rights.
If B, then work out an agreement that benefits both of you. Something along the lines of a standard TFP contract would be a good place to start.

Yes, what is actually the job under discussion--what does "work with" mean? If you're working a job for a client, say a bridal portrait and you're providing the makeup artist as an independent contractor to your service, then you would negotiate a fee and the MUA would operate according to your specifications, like hiring a second shooter.
