And, the last one for today. Excuse my poor etiquette by not lumping 12 photos into one post.

Wasn't that comment kind of unnecessary?

Agreed. The 17/18mm end on the standard crop zooms really don't hold a candle to the 10-XX zooms out there. Especially if you are expecting to get the nice things that come with the uwa's like great dof.

I've had canon 10/22, sig 10/20, tok 11/16 and can 17/40 all in the last 6 months on 1.6 crop bodies. IMO, they all performed better than any of the 17/18-5X at their lowest matched focal length settings.

Which of those would you recommend, 1) based on quality and 2) based on value?

It got it's point across, did it not?

What is life, without antagonizing words?... Yeah, that's a good question when phrased correctly...

1. Quality?
Sorry, I don't do quality tests. I am not a Measurebater but I will be happy to requote others who are more serious about specs.
2. Value?
Sigma, hands down the best bang for the buck out of those options.

EDIT: haha, it also happens to be the cheapest, which helps. The Tok will destroy it in IQ though, that's as far as I will go with a quality statement.

I don't see how it was antagonizing. It was a statement. Whether you like the statement, or not, is irrelevant.

I made a statement. You did not like said statement. Move on, get over it. Etc...

So having a little problem with my camera. I took some 25-30 second exposures last night in the bulb mode and after I let off the remote the red light on back stayed on for another 10-15 seconds then the review pic would pop up. Before when I had taken exposures that long they pop right up to review. I thought it was my card having too much info so I put in a new card fresh out of the package, formatted it and still go the same thing. Did a reset on it and still not going away. Anyone ever have this?

Do you have long exposure noise reduction on?

Haha. You're blind to yourself. That's nice. Useful sometimes.

I see, I've been leaning towards either the Sig or Tok for my first wide angle, so that's good news!

Being blind isn't so bad. It's when you can see and attack other people for your own agenda (which you clearly are doing) is when it get's sad.

Take care, my liberal friend.
