I have a 3rd party grip as well, saved a lot of money and love it so far. Does the same thing the canon one does! I'd say look on amazon and look at reviews and go for it!

Some people say that the plastic/rubber doesn't match the camera perfectly, so if you are a perfectionist, you may want to opt for the OEM grip. :)

The flash in this pic makes the difference MUCH more noticeable. In fact, I didn't even notice the difference until after I took this pic and inspected again more closely.

brand name stuff would be nice, but for a grip i dont think it would be worth putting that extra couple hundred in for it. i could use that for other camera stuff. awesome! thanks nrowensby

oh! haha i barely even noticed that too. only thing thats important is if it works LOL looks doesnt have to be a perfect match to the body. close enough for me haha

i have a question about the transmitter you have also. lets say you set the 430exii speedlite on channel 1 and set that transmitter to channel 1 as well. when you shoot, would the speedlite flash or would i have the attach the receiver to the 430exii in order for it to flash? i already use the built in transmitter on the 60d and my speedlite flashes as it should, but the distance or some areas i place my flash just wouldnt pick up due to lack of signal, therefore i was thinking about purchasing the transmitter/receiver you have. so my question really is would the transmitter and my flash work together without the receiver if it is on the same channel? sorry if this was a bit confusing haha. i kinda didnt know how to word what i wanted to say.

^^ regarding the grips. Canon wants 279ish at the retailer store for the 60D grip! Talk about ridiculous markup. The after market grips from BH photo are equally functional.

Wow... Didn't realize they were that much! I went straight for the $40 Meike from Amazon! :)

i have a new idea now haha. do you guys think i should look out for a 24-70mm f/2.8L or still think about buying the 17-55mm f/2.8? im kinda feeling the 24-70mm more. maybe own my first "L" lens :]

Are you ever going to move to full frame? Something to consider.

I love mine... I've had Canon grips on past cameras, and don't really see the point in spending 2-3x more unless you are just a brand-name junky. Performs just the same.

I got my canon grip brand new for $150. My last 3rd party grip was quirky and locked up the aperture a number of times. Resale will be better for canon products as well. That said, I'd never pay retail on a canon grip.

That is the question that I'm having a problem answering at the moment
I was really impressed with the EF-S 17-55 that I rented but I can't see spending that much atm having not answered the FF question. I want something that is wide enough for my liking on the crop and gives me a little range and would go nicely with a full frame...and that lens is? :)

Buy used... These lenses hold their value... If/When you go FF, sell and make your money back.

Can I ask you guys a question? What is up with the kinda sideways pics? Is that like a valid photography trend or something that fauxtographers do to look "arty"? My FB friend loves this lady's "work" but I'm like why are all the pics cockeyed? Am I behind the trend here?
