that is something i have not considered when thinking about L lens. your right, i dont see myself moving up to a FF anytime soon. Thanks for pointing that out Hardcore!

could anyone answer my question about the transmitter a couple pages back? Thanks!

I wish I could answer your transmitter question. But I'm still trying to figure that crap out myself.

I've got CyberSyncs for my AB's, and that was just silly easy to figure out. But my 430EX? I even bought one of these (external link), and after 5 minutes of tinkering with it...I gave up and just went back to my strobes :(

i have a question about the transmitter you have also. lets say you set the 430exii speedlite on channel 1 and set that transmitter to channel 1 as well. when you shoot, would the speedlite flash or would i have the attach the receiver to the 430exii in order for it to flash? i already use the built in transmitter on the 60d and my speedlite flashes as it should, but the distance or some areas i place my flash just wouldnt pick up due to lack of signal, therefore i was thinking about purchasing the transmitter/receiver you have. so my question really is would the transmitter and my flash work together without the receiver if it is on the same channel? sorry if this was a bit confusing haha. i kinda didnt know how to word what i wanted to say.

An RF transmitter isn't capable of communicating with the IR signal from the camera. Therefore, you need both a transmitter and a receiver to trigger your flash wirelessly.

Hope that answers your question :)

I just so happen to have a print right here. $500 limited edition! ;)

Just kidding. Yeah, I really like this shot too. Didn't realize how much color was there to let loose until going back through my old shots looking for stuff to PP.

im a little confused haha, so my idea of just setting the cowboy transmitter and the 430exii on the same channel isn't compatible unless i attach the cowboy receiver to the 430exii?

i was thinking i could just set everything to the same channel and have it work without having to attach the cowboy receiver to the speedlite since the 430exii has a built in receiver already.

i appreciate the help! :)

BTW johan. AMAZING picture you have there! looks like something i would see on the walls of an office or something. beautiful colors for sure!

Glad you guys like it. I notice some major CA going on though, that I need to clean up in PP.

I admit I often do a quick lazy pass on PP then post it on flickr. If I get a strong response to the image, I go back and make it absolutely perfect for selling and printing.

Exactly. IR and RF signal aren't compatible. The channel is simply a number, setting both of them on 1 won't make them work together.

You have to put the transmitter on the 60D and the receiver one the 430exII.

To be honest, the EXIF is bad advice. If I had to go back for this shot, it would be at f8, not 16. Since I didn't have full on ND filters back then, I had to use f16 to get the shutter slow, which it didn't need to be for this shot. Total fail, but the shot was still useable!:lol:

The only thing I did right was composition, place, and timing. ;)

Hoya HD CPL
2 stop ND grad filter
ISO 100
f 16
4 seconds

Your PP is really nice, I'd simply try a thing or to. If you don't want to turn it on, can I have a special permission ;) ?
