Wow, really? I didn't think I was good enough to charge actual money.

Looks like you are. The thing is, you have to be sure to produce that quality of work every time. You can't charge them only after your post-processiong, if you/they think the pictures are nice.

If you think you aren't ready to charge yet, maybe a trade could come in play. Ask them where they work, they might be able to give you something in exchange of your work. Could be a restaurant, an electronic store or anything else that you might want/need!

But yeah, don't give your work for free. You are hurting yourself and your competition :|

One day I will be decent. One day.

I really like this one.

Now I, on the other hand, only shoot inanimate objects.

Those are more than good enough. I've seen people claiming to be photogs shooting a p&s (at a wedding even), and charging GOBS of money. Results weren't even pp'd. If you can approach that quality most every time, then you're already there. Go for it lemon!

Why for free? Those are great pictures, there's a whole lot of so said ''photographer'' who charge for work their work that is far less beautiful than this.

I'd have paid for this.

Dr. R is right, however man those are some great images! Now mext time have them come dressed alike ;)

Dr. D I like your style. My rum intake is far too high to make use of such a "Reserve"

Lemonscent,

Nice pictures. What lenses did you use? Also what do you typically find yourself using for these type of shoots?

Considering a 60D and contemplating lens choices.

Might I give a suggestion. Glance over each page of the manual, getting a basic idea of what everything does. Then; start back at the first page and read every word. As you read, learn that page. In other words, turn the dials, push the buttons, etc. Take time to shoot some photos with the functions as you learn them.

It might seem like a slow process but if you concentrate on one page a day, then by this time next year, you'll know the camera like the back of your hand and using any of the functions will be second nature.

Unfortunately, most folks glance through the manual and get enough info to start shooting. They gradually learn some of the functions over time but in many cases never learn to use EVERY function Not that you want to use every function, but you should be comfortable with them.

Keep the suggestions coming. I agree certainly have loads to learn, I guess I want to start taking some pics so i can see firsthand what happens to the image as i try adjustments, this way I can make mental notes this does this that does that etc. Going to also watch a few tutorials on youtube tonight that are 60D based so I can watch them make setting adjustments etc with camera in my hand so I can see firsthand what they are doing.
