No long-winded intro...just the cars!

The Imp drivers were entertaining all weekend..

[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

The Derek Bell Trophy...nothing sounds like an F5000 car.
[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

A fearsome bunch, not to be messed with..
[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

I'm not really a single seater fan, but i'll make an exception in this case..
[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

Austin Healey 3000..
[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

All i want for Christmas is a Lotus Cortina....
[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

Lola T332 F5000.

I'm not entirely sure you're supposed to cut corners that much...

All taken on the Canon EOS 1DMKIV with either the Sigma 500 EX DG F4.5 or the Canon 100-400L.

Beautiful sharp shots, but you must have the images reversed. It almost seems like they're driving on the wrong side of the car...go figure ;) Beautiful vintage cars...nice work!

Very nicely done! As above re. sharpness etc, spot on.

Not everyday you see a Healey 3000 and an Imp on track together :)

This thread has a Big Healey in it, so it is by default very, very good :D:lol:

Very nice indeed Geoff. Particularly like the F5000 shots, and of course the Big Healey!

Simon.

It's mostly luck & stupidly expensive kit ;)

I must admit i hadn't spotted it but you're probably right about the sun on the wire wheels. Marshals are always good targets too...

We'll have to ad reversed images to the list of 1DMKIV issues then :D

There's a long & infuriating family story about a White MK1 Cortina with a Green stripe down the side...remind me to tell you at the Gold Cup (unless Monsoons are forecast)

That's the beauty of a HSCC meeting. The grids (particularly the Touring Cars) are nicely mixed. I was at a very wet Brands Hatch a few years back when the Minis were destroying everything on track, including a couple of Cobras.

I thought the Healey would grab your attention Sir!

All great shots, really like the pans though, imps, Lola & minis, very nice compositions and variety generally, enjoyable set.

Evening Geoff, cracking pics.... Love how crisp and clear your images are....can't wait for the day mine are half as good.

I had a good day on Sunday, was watching out for you. Wasn't till late in the day that I thought should have just give you a quick call to see if you where about.

MKii was great, really taking some getting use to ( setting wise ) took me 10 mins to workout how to move down a level on the focus points, could go left to right but not up and down..lol

Alan

You never see the shots i delete Alan ;).

Keep at it with the MKIIN, it will become 2nd nature quickly enough and the results are more than worth it.

Hopefully i'll be posting more Historic loveliness after the Oulton Park Gold Cup this weekend.
