Two from the same image of a bee using a 580EX II on a Delta Grip Bracket with a diffuser made from white foamy packing material.

Having trouble deciding between the close up or the image which shows more of the surroundings.

CC appreciated to accelerate the learning curve.

I definitely prefer the less cropped version. You did a great job of composition on it, and the cropped version loses too much resolution in my opinion.

Nice shot.

I agree with AtomHeart. It looks better composed in the first. And it's actually a hoverfly, not a bee :)

I like both (helpful eh?). The first is a well composed frame in my opinion, but I love the detail in the closer crop.

If it were for a poster I would choose #1.

Thanks all for your comments. Very helpful. I am so caught up on macro now - getting real close -that I am always cropping in as far as I can go. But I liked the composition better in number 1 also. I felt the composition in number 1 gave the hoverfly (thanks for correction Agiaco :) more context. Your comments validated my gut feeling.
