A local farmer has asked me to take some pictures of his Farm, depicting his daily work and passion... Here's a couple of the first shots.. He 'did' suggest a photograph of his fields.... This wonderful man isn't a photographer, nor is he a critic... he just knows what he likes.. I'd like some input from some of you folks....

thanks,

r

i would "crop" the first one and get rid of the sky

Nice shots - however for the first one the sky looks a little over-saturated (very blue) and both could use some horizon straightening!

#2 doesn't do much for me. Love the color saturation in #1. The horizon needs to be straightened, though.

To contrast #1, I would also try to get an ultra-wide shot on his field to show the vastness.

OK, I've fixed the horizons on both, and cropped out the sky .. The originals have been replaced in the original post.. :D

Thanks for comments....

I think you should have the wheat the same tones in all your images...or at least, as close as possible.

I think your first image is too red based on the tint of the clouds and the wheat seems too yellow in the second image.

Whichever color you feel is correct is fine as long as you're consistant. Here's an edit of your two shots superimposed where I tried to make them appear to have the same color values.

I'm waiting for the cotton fields to be in full bloom so I can get similar shots.

These are great photos. I agree with keeping the colors the same though.

Also, I was going to say that the others commenting that your horizon was crooked were crazy because your horizon looks perfect... Then I saw your post about the corrections. :D

I wish there were field like this around here! I agree with navydoc about the color consistency. I do like them though
