Hey everyone,

If this is the wrong section, sorry in advance.

Tonight I was shooting on the 8GB card and all of a sudden it gave me a "Card Err". There was no number or anything but the camera showed a message stating the card was not formatted for that camera.

When I turn off the camera and turn it back on, it won't even do the sensor cleaning like it normally does. I tried loading it into 2 different card readers and nothing loads on the Mac. The other memory cards worked fine.

I tried RescuePro and it won't pick up the card. Is there anything else I can try? Or am I SOL? It sucks cause I got some good images on there. I'm beyond pissed. :/

-Will

Can you still format the card? Do you have a windows PC to try it on? Looks like the card is going out. Maybe you can contact Sandisk and see if they can replace it.

I tried to format it and it says it can't do it. I think its the card. I'll have to call Sandisk to see what can be done. I just can't find the receipt for it.

When a CF fails, it is ugly. I had one foul up an entire PCs USB hub. Lost all but one image. Card is toast. Same card, by the way. Age of 5 years, not complaining.

Download the demo version of software recovery from getdata.com (external link). You can search the card for your pics (and pics from previous shoots). No need for a working FAT system.

If you find your pics, you can save them to another location if you buy the license ($39.95). It really is a try before you buy thing.
Good luck.

Checked the site but I don't have a PC. Wish I did so I can try.

This is why I always said I would never shoot on big cards. Too many eggs in one basket. I'm extremely thankful it was not a wedding I was shooting. I only gave it a shot cause the cards were on sale. Every other card I have has lasted me a few years. And so far the other 8GB card I bought is still working okay.

Anyone know if I can set the MarkIII to shoot RAW on Memory Card 1 and send a JPEG to Memory Card 2? I was looking to see but I can't find an answer. I tried playing with my settings and no luck.

Thanks again for the help/advice. At least I got some quick assistance here. :)

Disregard my last question. After some much needed sleep. I finally got it to work. I think I was just too frustrated and tired last night. So now I'll be shooting Raw and JPEG at the same time. I pray this prevents any issues in the future.

Thanks again for the quick responses.
