Came across this guy yesterday while mowing the lawn. With the lake being so flooded, all of the copperheads have moved close to the houses.

Two Black Ratsnakes I saw yesterday at Lake Texoma. First one was over 5 feet long, second one about 4 feet.

From Congaree National Park in South Carolina. The ranger told me it was a red bellied water snake, but from what I've found online it is correctly called a plain bellied water snake. He was sunning himself on a large downed tree about the same height as the boardwalk I was on.

In the springtime when we are racking up the last of the winter leaves, we bump into dozens of these. Perfectly harmless little guys but voracious bug eaters.
