Wacom Tablets, are any of you using them with your photography? If so how often? I'm debating picking up one for PP in LR and PS.

Thanks, Tom

I use mines every single time I'm in photoshop. It's an absolute necessity!

You can hardly lose for the money. A decent one will set you back around $100 USD. I got mine from Amazon on special for around $69 and it included PSE and NikFX Pro. If you end up using it you can move to a larger one later on. I'm still learning mine, but I bought a true tablet computer so I do most of my editing on it. If I didn't have the tablet I would be using it a whole lot more. BUT I am using the software.

I have an Intuos3 9x12 that I bought a long time ago - used it for a little while, but never really liked it. It was way too big, even redefining the area on it didn't help, it was just too physically large for my space. I ended up recently getting a Intuos4 Medium and decided to remove the mouse completely from my system so I'd be forced to use the tablet. Make sure if you are looking at getting one that you don't go too large.

I'll say that I only go back to the mouse whenever the kids want to play Minecraft, otherwise the tablet is so much better. It takes some getting use to in some apps, but it's worth it.

I already have photoshop - but the Intuos4 came with a copy of PSE 9 and I got a $50 off with a discount code given out on a Wacom webinar, so it was a pretty good deal.

The gf got me an Intuous 4 and prefer using it over my standard mouse and trackpad. It's freakin awesome. I'll never go back!

Another tablet user here, I have a beat-up Intuos 3 that I still use and an Intuos 4, they're very useful tools to have if you do any amount of retouching or masking, it's a massive improvement. I also have artists in the family, so it gets a fair amount of drawing use as well.

At one point in time I've actually been using only a tablet for so long that I had to get used to using a mouse again when I had to!

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

To be honest, I don't know if I could live without it when using photoshop as well as some other applications. I use mine so much I've just about wore the finish off the face of the tablet. It is probably one of the best investments I could have made.

Intos4 Medium I think , I use it as a mousepad with the mouse it came with ( I love that mouse) for all of my regular internet/computer stuff and then slide it over to where my keyboard normally sits for all photo stuff and use the pen, but if it's just one photo then I leave it in the mousepad position and use the pen, it works really well. Can't quite imagine not having it and I've only had it a couple of months, I use it with LR3 and Portrait Professional.

I have been thinking of giving it another go myself. Had an intuos4d Medium before and sold it, but lately I have thinking I didnt give it enough of a chance.

I think I bought my first Wacom in 2007. Haven't used a mouse since then. The pen is just much more comfortable than the mouse, and it isn't limited to photo editing.

I use a Bamboo and only paid about £80 for it. I use it for selections mostly and its been a great help. I think you'll find a lot saying it takes time to get used to it and I agree 100% :)
