Whichever point allows me to focus on what I need to focus on anywhere in the frame.

Center only doesn't work well with a narrow depth of field all of the time.

Center ... if I need anything else I'll either AF Lock -> recompose or just manual focus. Selecting points is too clumsy (on T2i, anyway).

I position my AF points to suit the subject. I usually always use Ai Servo and always evaluative metering.

I use single point a lot, using the little joystick-like thing to choose the focus point. I would use multi-point though if my camera could do it.

I was just practicing with centre focus point and theirafter recomposing. However I have learned that recomposing results in front / back focus. So going to start practicing selecting focus point nearest to area to be under focus. But limitation in my camera is that only centre focus point is accurate one. Wonder how it will affect focussing accuracy.

Unfortunately AF points are not really a matter of personal preference lol. Its more so what you need to use to get the focus/composition you want. There is no real answer from me haha.

Oh, that's interesting. I had only seen the menu ... makes sense that there's a wheel option, though. Thanks info the info.

I started using more automatic modes when I got the 7d. On everything else including 5d2 and 1d2 I usually fell down to selecting one point.

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

I just use the center point despite the fact that my 7D has several advanced ways to use the other points. I'm aware of these capabilities, but I guess old habits are hard to break. :)

I just like the center focus method. It works for me, and I am used to it. Not knocking others ideas on this. I think it is personal preference and what works.
