Hmm, of course there are various approaches to how you might figure things out -- some old-fashioned "detective work", retracing all your steps and trying to figure out what you may have done and Picasa may have done. Or, you can take the straightforward ol-fashioned approach and use the Search function in your Explorer file browser -- if you had given the images descriptive names that would help, otherwise you are stuck with looking at everything with the proper file extension.

Or, hey, that possibility of the shots still being on the card is a nice optimistic thought!

But if nothing works, hmm...

What happens when you open Picasa? Does it automatically go to the images you actually have?

And, what have you done so far to "find" the missing images? Having more details will help us to help you!

I try to locate any jpg files on my laptop and there was only the "my picture" folder having those jpg files.

on the 1st step is i plug in my card reader + CF card and picasa will automatic execute and asked whether i want to import all those picture and also location of those imaging.

So i create different imaging folder and separate 3 import for 3 of my CF card.

I will go back and run some program to see whether can i recover back those deleted picture

picasa is a strange program.

i've found that if you try to import a tremendous amount of files at once, it gets confused and jsut stops.

if you go 1 folder at a time, it works much better. also sometimes closing and reopening a few times will start the import process again.

Perhaps try a different program for import. I just like to drag and drop. Don't delete anything off the card until you verify that everything has correctly transferred, and that you've also backed the images up.
