Does the 1.4x extender add barrel distortion?

Pretty simple question with what I'm assuming is a simple answer - looking to purchase a 1.4x for my 17tse (yes, it works) but I don't want to screw with the barrel distortion when this lens has virtually none. I'll be using it for arhitecture and interior photography, where distortion is critical and fixing it in post isn't really an option (because one of the reasons I bought this lens is to save time fixing barrel distortion in post).

So, does anyone know if the addition of a 1.4x to a lens will affect the amount of barrel distortion?

Not a bad result, and the new 1.4X III teleconverter should be even better than the Mark II.

My main takeaway from that page is, once again, that the original TS-E 24mm is pretty terrible (relatively speaking).

I ought to try my own TS-E 17mm with the 2X extender. I wish I had the 24mm though (no bulb on the front of you camera hanging out into the open, a slightly faster aperture, and seems to test slightly better for sharpness, though not much, but especially at its native focal length).

I've been planning on trying the 2XIII on the 17 and 24II. I'll post when I get a chance.
