7D vs 5DII for ISO

7D ISO 3200

7D ISO 6400 (well 3200 pushed a stop, same thing).

That's a great shot, I get an awful lot of noise on my 7D though when shooting at 3200 or 6400, that's a really good example though I think people are now getting a little carried away with this thread, I just wanted to know if the noise levels on the 5D were better than on the 7D using higher ISO in lower light

Well Iam too old to get into any pissin matches here...I enjoy this forum and love reading the posts and enjoying all the great captures posted from all over the world...I will say that my 7d is great for my birding out side in good light...but when I move indoors I grab the old 5d

The 7D will very, very closely match your 5D at ISO 3200 using the same exposure. Usually with age comes the wisdom to just admit where you might be wrong and to pick your battles, so maybe you aren't as old as you think you are.

Are you using Lightroom for PP? If you don't it is on sale right now for $150. With the amount we all invest in this gear it's a cheap investment and really allows you to push ISO and get usable images.

I do use it, not all the time though, most stuff just done on PS cs5, iv had some great results, and since having the 24L rather than my Sig 30mm, i find it doesn't hunt in low light and the AF is a lot more accurate which really helps.

Since you do have it all you need to do is import your images, sort them under the metadata tab by ISO speed and then apply NR for each ISO speed and sync. There is a video on Adobe's site that really does a good job of explaining how sync works. I can't tell you how much time this has saved me in the last year or so, I used to process images one by one in PS.

Thanks for the probably life and stress saving tip haha, ill give this a try later iv used it but only experimental, most of my works always been done on PS. Iv finally put my sigma 30 and 70-200 f4 IS up for sale so i can purchase the new MKII, cant wait to get it!
