Taken in the spring up in Carrizo plains national Monument. Friend and I had gone up on the 4x4 trails and spotted this area in the afternoon. The light was too harsh at that time so i noted the coords down for a shot at a later time. After exploring the area further up in the mountains and just relaxing at the top of the valley, we decided to head back to this spot. Composed the shot and waited around for just the right light to light these flowers up. I have this one printed 30x48 on Fuji metal paper.

Beautiful shot. The backlighting on the flowers is stunning.

Love everything about this one including the way you finished it off with the virtual matting and framing.

Belongs on the cover of Outdoor Photographer. KUDOS to you.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.

great light - I especially like the detail in the immediate foreground, is it a HDR?

There's no doubt it's 'HDR'. Especially from an old camera like his.
