I can't wrap my head around this, and my search capabilities seem to be lacking. Can someone explain to me how this product would attach to a light stand?

I get how the box attaches to a speed ring and I get how the shoe mount flash hooks up but I don't get how the speed ring connects up with the light stand.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

That's the Jedi Knight version of the speed ring (no stand required). You need to use the Force, Luke.

I don't have the composite version of the Chimera speed ring so I"m not 100% sure but this is what I use with the Chimera Octaplus speed ring for taking the load off of the light:

And, of course, that also means you'll need this (or an equivalent):

If its like the photoflex adapter, there would be a female 1/4-20 thread on the bottom of the knob that attaches the bracket to the speed ring.

EDIT: Oh I got you now. That makes sense.

Now, that seems much more practical and does make a lot more sense than spending another $80+ to mount a $40 composite speedring to a stand. :D
