I'm entering a contest and have an idea in mind but I need to stage it and I don't know where to go for the props.

Can anyone assist with places to go?

Please note: I live in Far North Queensland Australia (Cairns tbe)

Scientist.... lab coat or maybe even scrubs. and a syringe... but will probably poke around the toddler section of Woolworth's for something similar... doesn't need to be real. Actually, the bigger and dummer, the better.

Grungy backdrop.... ??? tough one.. or old chipped painted wall or brick.. ?

although I suppose I could photoshop the background in? I don't know if they'll exact that for the contest tho.
Will have to find out.

Yeah, without info on what kind of props you're looking for, there's no way to suggest anything outside of airplane props and, last time I checked, those were on the pricey side...

No, this is just a one time thing...

I'm gonna try a local charity- second hand shop. Similar to Salvation Army stores in the states. or Goodwill places.. doubt they'll have medical uniforms tho. :\ hmmmm

Do you have a local hospital? Ours has a gift shop that sells scrubs and white lab coats.

The Cairns esplanade after dark???

Joking (well...sort of...I used to live at Clifton Beach).

Try connecting with some science students at JCU for the scrubs/coat/syringe?

Yard sales, boot sales, thrift stores, consignment shops.

I sometimes hit antique stores too, but they can be pricey.

For medical clothing check out your local college bookstores.

Since halloween is not too far away there may be some halloween stores opened up already in your area. I've already seen 1 place open in my city. Or if you have one of those year round costume stores they will likely have it.

I live in Australia..... Halloween is not all that "big" here. It's not advertised like the states, there are no "costume" shoppes either.

A few kids will come around but no one really does the whole "trick or treat" thing... Aussie's say it's an American tradition not Australian. (I'm an American living here- so I hear a lot of degradation).

Oops didn't see that... Try calling your local hospitals and ask where you can pick up scrubs and lab coats. You could possibly find toy syringes and stethascopes at a big toy store...
