This past June I was lucky enough to head to France and shoot at Le Mans. I've just gotten around to posting a huge post on my website with some videos and a ton of photos as well as something of a guide to the photo shooting spots around the track. I though you guys might like to check it out!

Dan I must say that I thoroughly loved your photos and write up of your experience at Le Mans. Great job and thanks for all the little details about shooting at that track. Not only are you a great at motorsports photography but you are also not afraid to share details behind your shots. From the camera and its settings to approximately what time and where you were at the track when you took them. I checked out some of your other pics on your website and you definitely have an eye for shooting non motorsports as well. Cheers!

Dan

Your images are awsome and the write up is very detailed and interesting. Thanks for sharing it bought back some really good memories as I have done Le Mans a few times but not recently and only with a point and shoot but you have got me thinking about going next year.

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The timing of some things is something that has been mentioned in a few places where this was posted. Really anyone can figure that out with a map as long as it has compass directions on it. There are even some great apps for your iPhone that will overlay the suns path onto google maps. We all know you never (or at least rarely) want to shoot into the light so knowing the path of the sun and the layout of the track you can figure out a shooting plan. I shoot all sorts of things and it's always the first thing I think about, where is that light going to be coming from.

cheers

Dan

Great post - thanks for sharing, especially the insight on your shooting plan and little bits of "behind the scenes". There are some absolutely tasty shots. The #2 Audi pitstop, Peugeot long-exposure, sunday morning BMW and prototype out of "no man's land" -- WOW!
