Crystal sphere in the sunset II (external link) by ArcticShooter (external link), on Flickr

I just had to give this a try after seeing all the cool images that Scott/Natural Light Magic (external link)made.

This is a 15s exposure. Polarizer and reverse grad 3 stop. 24mm f/1.4L
The camera was places as low as I could get it approx 12 cm above the beach.
I really wish that my 5DII had a screen that could be movable to be able to see everything when shooting this low.

Great shot!!! I like the sphere, gives it somethign to differentiate it from a 'sunset' shot.

I disagree with the like button... it discourages comments, and comments are better :)

Not to be "that guy" but your horizon is running just slightly downhill from left to right...

Sorry

That is what I thought also. Something different and it looks cool

You just had to measure it? The problem here in the Arctic is that the earth curve is so steep compared to else where. That makes it very difficult to keep the horizon straight. And you notice this particularly well in ultra wide angle shots.

Best explanation I've ever heard...

I probably wouldn't have noticed except I scrolled down to read comments and the horizon line crossed the edge of my browser window. Sorry... ;)
