Formula 1 GP @ Hungary

Was at the Hungaroring a few weekends ago. My 2nd time watching Formula 1 live (first time: 1986...) First time with a camera...

Action plan was simple:
1. Acquire cheapest ticket possible - $50, general admission, for the whole weekend (local residents only, includes open pitlane day Thursday), not a bad deal eh?
2. Get up early, bring gear and spend the day out, every day
3. SHOOT!

Shot about 3000 exposures over the four days. Never shot action quite as fast before... it was a challenge, but hugely enjoyable, too. General admission means there are only a few spots around the track where you can shoot over the fencing. Very limiting in terms of angles. Tried to spice things up in PP with cropping. Mostly overcast and some rain with a few sunny moments. Race was pretty nice, though!

Great shots! Looking forward to the races coming to Austin TX in late 2012.

#1 is a nice pit lane action shot, those mirror helmets are great for that.

I don't care for the up the mountain look in #3, the comp in #4 is better, but cropped too tight IMO. The execution of the pans looks good, just not sure about the cropping.
