i keep hearing that most of photographers fails at making their hobby into bussiness; That only 1% success.

My personal theory is that most of people that say such things are people who simply didn't even tried.

I want to examine my theory by this pool and check how many people actually tried and failed.

i hope you won't see this as spam. I posed this already on business forum and at this point it seems that photography is very safe job.

Prehaps this is because business section gather people who are in business (and those who failed don't care about this forum).

that's why i want people from different section to vote.

its not like people are allowed to visit one section on the site only. you'll get the same response as the one you posted earlier. you have a good conversation going on in there no need to bring it elsewhere.

I couldn't vote because none of the poll is applicable to me.

I had 29 years as a pro photographer. My first job was working for the photographic unit of large heavy industrial plant.. This where I learnt my craft.

Then three years self-employment.. I did some of my best work during this time.

The last 17 years of the 29 working fulltime for a newspaper. I'm now retired from pro photography. I also taught photography part time for a while.

I made a bloody good living out of pro photography.
