I'm off to Busch Gardens in Florida in a couple of weeks and was trying to find out if they had any restrictions on cameras and lenses. I don't want to bring my 100-400 if I'll be hassled about bringing in a "professional lens". I've searched their website and can't find anything. If any of you have been there, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience and any other advice you'd like to pass along.

1Dx - 5DIII - 40D - Canon 24-70LII, 100L macro, 135L, 16-35L, 70-200 f4 and 100-400L lenses

- "Very good" is the enemy of "great." Sometimes we confuse the two.

The best advise I can give is to wear layers, bring a hat, and sunglasses (maybe even a fake mustache).

The reason I say this is that if they are like Sea World, they give out two free eight-ounce beers at beer pavilion, and the sign says "limit of two cups per guest," but with some subtle changes in disguise, and the fact that there are usually two to four people serving, you might just be able to have quite a few on the house.

Worked for us in San Diego.

Other than that, I don't think they care about lenses, etc. There are a gazillion dslr's in the parks.

Thank you. bw!

Are you planning on going on rides while you are there? I ask because if I go with my hubby and 2 sons, I am the official bag holder. I don't go on any rides and spend the day shooting and waiting, and of course, eating. ;) When we went to Universal for spring break, we were there 3 days, I took my 5D2 for 2 days and a P&S for one day. The day I did not bring the big camera I did more. Some places have secure lockers in case you want to bring the big set up, but the 100-400 is overkill, I think. Do you have any tele lenses not so heavy? It's not like you are going to the zoo.

RF6 Mii, 5DIV, SONY a7iii, 7D2, G12, 6 L's & 2 Primes, 25 bags.
My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.

I'm going to take the 100-400 to get shots of the birds and African animals. At my age, I'm not much for rides anymore. If there is no policy against what equipment I'm using, I don't mind lugging the "1 to 4" around for a day and then switching to my S-95 for the rest of our stay.

Thanks for your reply.

They stopped doing that and shut down the Hospitality House a couple years ago when Anheuser-Busch was bought by InBev. :( :( :(

Back to the original subject. The park's info/policies page doesn't seem to mention any photography gear, though they will probably not want you to have it out on any of the rides.

Also, it's extremely likely that it will rain, hard. Make sure you are prepared to keep your gear dry.
