Just got my S95

After months of agonizing which camera to get, I just got my S95 a few days ago.

My prior camera was an SD750, which I've always been super pleased with and found exceedingly easy to use. Being familiar with Canon's menus and functionalities have made the switch super easy. I'm already loving the S95's lens when it comes to shooting in dark situations.

I am, however, not too pleased with the user guide/manual. First off, is there anyway I can order a hard copy from Canon? While I appreciate 'going green' more than most people, it's not very intuitive to learn how to use a camera, squatting in front of my computer. Second, can I only store ONE set of custom settings in the "C" mode? I was hoping to be able to save more. The manual was clearly written first in another language, then translated to English, as many of the sentences are not proper English, or even close.

Again, loving the camera already!

Yep, the S95 is sweet indeed!!! Love mine.

Can't you just print a hard copy of the manual if needed?

I'm curious why you bought a new camera if the SD750 was so pleasing.

@p32shooter: thank you!

@archiebald: yes, and I did. However, it doesn't print so hot. I would want to print it at 100%, which is about 1/3 the size of a standard letter size sheet. It's also 196 pages. Also, Canon put a "COPY" watermark that prints on each page and looks awful. 196 pages is rather cumbersome and BARELY fits in a giant binder clip.

@dcorban: the s95's ability to shoot so well in low light situations and easily change the settings with the three way control. I liked my SD750 a lot, but I can already see a major difference in image quality with the s95.

I ordered one too last week. Could not resist the urge for a smaller camera so I can enjoy going out with the family. I will update once a try it.

Nice purchase, I have the same one. I just ordered the underwater WP-DC38 case so I can take it on vacation etc.

I've been using this camera for 8 months now, only problem I hate about the s95 is the mode dial. It's stiff as fcuk, I wish it was just alittle bit more smooth. Is your stiff too?

I printed mine onto A5 paper and put it together with a comb binder, it is fine.

And about the "Copy" watermark - that is incorrect. The manual on the CD that comes with the camera has no watermark - it is only in the version downloaded from Canon's website.

Here's a link to a thread I started a while back when I bought a manual for my S95. It was kinda pricey but I'm pleased with it.

@shybull: awesome, I think that may actually be worth the $25 for me.
