I am wondering why alot of people are willing to pay $400 plus 3% paypal fees for a used 580EX II, but at the same time BH is selling for $450 + free shipping + 1 year warranty? Is it really worth it for the $38 of saving? I am just curious. Peace

Personally, I would go with new from B&H unless I could get one used for $350 total. New is worth $100 more for me.

^ youngnuo does not have a solid reputation with durabilty/build quality. There are TONS of results where capacitors have ceased to function. Youngnuo's flashes should be taken with a grain of salt until they have better electronic circuitry design.

don't let that stop you from purchasing one though

I will confirm that the 580's do indeed actaully sell at that asking price. Sold one myself not long ago and had zero trouble getting it sold for what I wanted.

580exII will easily sell at $400. Last time I checked new one was close to $500. Maybe now prices have fallent somewhat.

I think the 580ex II is over-priced regardless of whether it's new or used. You can find pretty good deals on the original 580ex though, I bought two of them for $250-275 each.

HELP! What do I do...I'm about to pull the trigger on a 580EX II but since it's been out for a bit now I'm worried there is a new one around the corner...anybody know when the EX III comes out? I would imagine after Sept 3?!

Unless the new version is going to have a "Mr. Fusion" power supply I don't think you have anything to worry about. Pick the 580EX II up now at the discount. If there is a new one it will certainly cost more.
