Hi all,

Our latest Bluebird babies (from the 4th nesting) have just begun making their homecoming appearances in our near trees and on the deck. We'll be processing some of our first closeups of them for another post here shortly.

But meanwhile, their older siblings have stayed around and are well underway now with moulting into their adult plumage. So I'd like to share a set of these rapidly rusting fledglings...

Hello Kenn, I am glad to see your kids are doing so well this year. Excellent shots, I like #2 best, great composure and detail. You guys must be proud parents, grandparents probably great greats too. Always love your posts, a unique relationship there.

This set is actually from 3 different cameras:
#1, 7 are shot with Fuji S100fs @400mm
#2, 4, 6, 8 are shot with Canon SX30-IS @840mm
#3, 5 are shot with Canon S5-IS/Sony 1.7x TC @735mm

And here's a little preview of one of the 4th-nest crew:

(taken with the SX30)

We'll be back with another series of these newest baby Blues soon. :)

Thanks again all,

Kenn

Good morning Kenn... The fledglings and juveniles are always a joy to watch as they develop... your Bluebirds, perhaps are the kings and queens of the fledglings with the "cuteness" factor. Looking forward to seeing more close ups of the youngsters.

Stunning close ups of these beauties Kenn. Great DOF and details. I think it's time to leave the door open for them so they can join you inside. You're going to need a lot of newspaper. :)
